There are a number of animals which are at the danger of becoming extinct in the near future; such animals are termed as endangered animals. Some of the examples of endangered animals are island fox, tigers, sea otter, American Bison and so on. There are a number of causes behind the endangerment of some animals.
One of the reasons behind their endangerment is loss of habitat. A number of natural changes keep occurring which lead to the modification in the habitat. Usually these changes occur at a slow pace and this does not affect the species too much but if these changes take place at a very fast pace then animals may not be able to adapt to changes and this may cause extinction of some animals.
A lot of times, human beings are responsible for the loss of habitat of some animals due to deforestation or/and turning of forests into residential places. This leads to the destruction of dwelling place of animals and when animals lose their habitat, they may die and may soon become endangered or extinct. A range of products of human use are made from various parts of animals and when human beings overexploit these animals for their own use then this leads to the endangerment of some animals.
It is because of this reason that poaching is said to be one of the primary reasons for the endangerment of animals. Apart of poaching, there are many other human activities that become the reasons of extinction of animals. For instance, air pollution caused due to emission of harmful gases from vehicles and industries, water pollution caused due to the disposal of waste in rivers, are harmful for many animals dwelling in nearby areas and cause endangerment of animals.
So, we should try to reduce such activities which results in the endangerment of animals. Let us become conscious global citizens!
